I'm new at this!

 Sorry to the Guys, but.......

Right now, I'm not a fan of men in general. There's a guy at work, I'll call him Al, who has had a thing for me for the past year and a half or longer. I made the mistake of meeting him for lunch a couple of times and we stopped for a beer after work once. Long enough to find out he's married, and his wife is terminally ill. Anyway, I've let him know in no uncertain terms, that I'm not interested in a relationship with him.

So he keeps asking me to meet him for breakfast after graveyard shift, or lunch before second shift, and so on. I tell him "Sure thing, just give me a call". He will INVARIABLY call and tell me he can't make it. Which I knew he would do.

So yesterday, he called me and told me to check the front seat of his pickup before I left this morning, that he had gotten something for me. How sweet!!!! NOT!!!! He got me a little red teddy bear holding a heart that says "kisses" and a little box of Valentine chocolates. Now doesn't that just make you wanna throw up?? So he called me to ask if I had gotten it from his truck.

I asked him what he had gotten for his wife.

I don't think he's gonna call for a while.

 Roommate

Well, I have a roommate for the first time in 3 years. He's a nice enough guy, and I've known him for a while. We work at the same place, but on different crews, so our shifts are different and we won't be home at the same time very much.

Anyway, like I said, he's a nice enough guy, very responsible, and insists on paying his half of everything. He's just not real bright. My Blue Heeler chases him around, biting at his heels. (imagine my surprise!!) So I told him not to move quickly, not to talk to her, not to look at her, and let her make up to him. So when she nips his heels, he shakes his finger at her and tells her to cut it out. So she bit his finger.

I'm really hoping this will work out, but it's going to take my little Gracie doggie a while to get used to this one.

 Finally moved!!!!

So I spent all day Saturday moving stuff into the new place. Then Sunday went back to clean the old place, and on the way home, it was snowing!!! In Tucson!!!!!!

Anyway, it's very cold here today, and the snow is mostly gone. It's just muddy outside now.

I love the new place, and the doggies love it, and I think my roommate likes it, but I'm not sure about him. Gracie, my little Queensland Blue Heeler mix has been doing her thing, and biting his feet and ankles. She takes a long time to warm up to anyone. The other doggies like him well enough. I think he just moves too quickly for Gracie.

So now I'm in this great big house, and the only room with enough furniture is my bedroom. Besides the king size waterbed with a huge headboard, I have an antique chest of drawers and a linen cabinet and my computer. The family room has my huge bookcase and the couch and loveseat in there, and the TV, but it looks empty. The guest room has all the excess boxes in there, and the furniture hasn't even been set up yet. I hope to get to that sometime this year!!

All in all, the moving went very smoothly, with a few friends helping. Now, if it would just warm back up!!!!!!

 An apology

Well, last night at work, Mr. Jackass was up to his usual stunts. He actually out jackassed himself with this one!

He did something that we have discussed in safety meetings, and it goes against safe practice protocol. I used my company radio and called him on it in a very polite way. I simply said that I would appreciate it if he did this instead of that. But everyone knew who I was talking to and what I was talking about.

When we were leaving, I was signing my timesheet and he got right up in my face and started asking what my problem was and then was screaming and cussing at me. I went inside to the foreman's office, and another foreman had heard the whole conversation. When my foreman came in, we discussed it and the other foreman backed me up.

Apparently, my foreman ripped Mr. Jackass a new one, because today when I got to work Mr Jackass offered his sincere apology for blowing up on me the way he did. He also said that he was having a bad day, and had taken it out on me, and that he shouldn't have, would I forgive him. Of course, I said yes and thank you for the apology.

Do I think the situation is resolved???? Is my idiot light on??? Of course not! But I'll play the game, and just keep my eyes open.
